ANDREW W.K. To Offer Stream-Of-Consciousness Lecture

January 19, 2007

On Tuesday, February 6, Andrew W.K. will appear, in person, to answer one question in a 20-minute, stream-of-consciousness lecture. Andrew's appearance is part of "Here's The Thing", a night of improv held at The Pit in New York City - 154 West 29th Street, NY NY, 10001 - (212) 563-7488.

Anyone interested in attending the event, may write a question for Andrew to answer. In addition, you may submit a question even if you don't live in the New York area, and are unable to come to the event in person. Andrew will select a question from all of those submitted, and give his answer live on February 6. The event starts at 8:00 p.m. and will also include several comedians, who'll perform before Andrew answers the chosen question. Tickets are $5. Send your question, as well as your first name, to: [email protected]

The chosen question will be announced on the "News" page of AndrewWK.com several days before the February 6 event.

Commented Andrew: "I'm very excited about this upcoming chance to answer a question in person.

"For the past five years, I've been fortunate to have a regular advice column in a Japanese music magazine called Rockin' On. For years I've also loved answering questions people wrote me on the computer. I've enjoyed these opportunities to engage and communicate in a direct and hopefully helpful way. These experiences, as well as my recent lecture at New York University, have driven me to create more opportunities to connect and talk with people, and focus more energy on thinking about what life is 'about,' and how to have as much fun as possible.

"I've been thinking about this a lot, and I'd like us to keep coming together, sharing our ideas, and doing everything we want to do.

"I look forward to see the people who come towards this same feeling, as I reach out and talk about the world, as it appears to me, and about the nature of pure fun and pleasure."

Andrew W.K.'s third album, "Close Calls with Brick Walls", was released last year in Asia. U.S. and European release dates have not yet been announced.

Andrew W.K.'s live DVD, "Who Knows?", came out in February 2006. The film features live footage shot over four years on the road, as well as behind-the-scenes footage, an Andrew W.K. fan tribute, outtakes of Andrew performing "I Get Wet" and additional footage of Andrew's antics.

Andrew W.K. severed ties with Island Records in 2004.
